Secret Network introduces scalable, permissionless smart contracts featuring a default private design, enabling innovative use cases on the blockchain that are not practical on public systems. It was the pioneering protocol to offer private smart contracts on the mainnet, constructed using the Cosmos Software Development Kit (SDK) to provide interoperable privacy across the entire Cosmos ecosystem. Utilizing a blend of Intel SGX (Software Guard Extension) Trusted Execution Environment technology, various encryption schemes, and key management, Secret Network ensures privacy by default for blockchain users. The implementation of Secret Contracts is based on the Rust-powered smart contract compilation toolkit CosmWasm, expanding the potential for private metadata.
