AML enforcement has overtaken securities classification as the industry's biggest regulatory headache, with related fines and settlements topping $900 million in H1 2025 alone. And exchanges, custodians, and issuers are increasingly held to the same prudential bar as traditional financial institutions — capital adequacy, asset segregation, liquidity management, all of it. The takeaway for anyone building enterprise blockchain infrastructure is that security and compliance are table stakes.
